In April 1997 a band of similarly-minded parents formed a series of weekly groups at which to meet, share experiences and offer moral support. The Parent Network has come a long way since those early days with membership now standing at 100+ families.

We’re delighted to have a growing and involved membership across Locks Heath, Park Gate, Titchfield, Bursledon, Stubbington, Fareham, Hedge End, Whiteley and Warsash.

The Parent Network is an independent, non-profit making organisation dedicated to supporting parents and others caring for babies and young children.

Having a baby is a life changing experience for everyone. What is a very exciting time can also become lonely. The Parent Network is a fantastic way of meeting mums and dads in the local area.

The Parent Network runs a Baby and Toddler Group as well as numerous daily drop in groups, nearly new sales and seasonal social events.

With increased membership came a demand for both children’s and adults’ social events. These have included pub nights, theatre trips, picnics, group dinners, wine tasting events, ten-pin bowling, casino nights, greyhound racing, and children’s parties and trips – truly something for everyone.

As well as the social side we hold major fund-raising events, like the now famous Nearly New Sales. Most of the money raised at these events goes to local charities and the remainder on improving the services offered by The Parent Network to its members.

The Parent Network produces a quarterly  e-newsletter. The production of the newsletter, which includes topical articles, family activity ideas, useful contacts for all the family and diary dates.

Members also receive a number of benefits such as priority nearly new sellers packs, access to a free babysitting circle and subsidised social events, as well as ball pool and gazebo hire. Members also benefit from discounts with local businesses and facilities.
